In this study, satellite images were integrated into the fifth grade social science teaching materials to induct student interest in learning, enhance students' awareness of geospatial concepts, enhance their learning effectiveness, and to provide an important reference and teaching strategy in the natural environment course in Taiwan. In this study, teaching evaluation were designed to collect performance data from the experimental group of students learning with the “satellite image-assisted teaching materials” and the control group of students with the “traditional teaching materials” in teaching Taiwan's natural environment course, quantifying the effectiveness by statistical analysis, including Independent -Sample t Test, Pair -Sample t Test, Chi-Square Test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), to explore the learning outcomes between the two groups, by the same instructors, the same teaching hours, and the same course content, the impact of different teaching materials for student learning, and to verify the hypotheses of this study. The results were as follows: 1. There are significant differences between student learning in the experimental group using “satellite image-assisted teaching materials” and the control group using “traditional teaching materials” with 2 times of good performers in the experimental group. The former social sciences literacy and assessment test scores were not significantly different in the experimental and control group students, but the test score were higher in the experimental group of students after teaching the course, indicating the effectiveness of using the satellite image-assisted teaching materials in Taiwan's natural environment course. 2. There are positive impacts in using the “satellite image-assisted teaching materials” in Taiwan's natural environment course; the learning effectiveness was 1.6 times higher on the experimental group than that of the control group. 3. There exist significant differences in the results of geographic questions between the experimental group and the control group, the learning effectiveness is better in the experimental group than the control group. However, there is no significant difference in general questions in the two groups. The use of satellite imaging features to design teaching materials in Taiwan's natural environment courses can display the true land surface, as well as take advantage of the three-dimensional technology to render the stereoscopic view of Taiwan, and have a better interpretation of the wide variety of terrain and helpful in topography learning. It is recommended that the geography curriculum integrate with satellite imagery to strengthen the students' willingness to learn and learning effectiveness. Chen, Li 陳莉 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 77 zh-TW
