Summary: | 碩士 === 中華科技大學 === 飛機系統工程研究所 === 102 === A reliability-based multibit-flipping decoding algorithm which flips multiple bits in each iteration is proposed for low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. The multibit-flipping criterion is devised based on the least reliable positions in which the flipping threshold (i.e., number of flipping bits) is dynamically adapted during the decoding process. The proposed algorithm is derived theoretically from the BP decoding algorithm. In addition, for avoiding infinite loops when they appear in the decoding, a loop detection and prevention mechanism was also proposed. The proposed decoder converges faster and provides better performances than the conventional weighted bit-flipping and multibit-flipping decoders. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can significantly reduce the average number of iterations and improve the performance as compared with the conventional bit flipping algorithms. The proposed algorithm achieves a good tradeoff between performance and complexity.
