Summary: | 碩士 === 中華科技大學 === 航空運輸研究所 === 102 === After the deregulation of the air-route policy, air transportation became so unique in the whole air industries and many domestic and foreign airlines domestically, and gradually occupied this market . The domestic airlines in Taiwan have been in competition for over 60 years and joined the alliance in recent years. This has caused a few changes in the model of management.
However , in traditional airline business model; safty and comfort were the top priority. As time goes by, the aviation industry transformed their models, because the Low-Cost Carrier(LCC) rose up, they threaten full-service carriers which are forced to diversify their services. In 2013, over 10 LCCs were operated in Taiwan. It shows a quite positive outlook of the airline industry in Taiwan. In the end of 2013, China Airlines and TransAsia Airways both declared that they would set up the LCC after the approval from Civil Aeronautics Administration(CAA) . It takes time to see if these two LCCs will be a new force in this fierce competition for LCCs.
Both the qualitative research method and quantitative research method are adopted in this study, these are used to analyze how to purchase the fleet, to plan the overall fleet efficiency, to accurately predict in the future fleet market. The quantitative research method uses data collected form questionnaire. In order to analyze the preference and favorites of the regular passengers who fly budget airlines. The result provide reference for domestic airlines.Obviously, it is typical that passenger tend to rely on existing full-service carrier and do not fully understand LCCs in Taiwan. Besides, a fleet can be purchased from Cserious of Bombadier (Canada) and E-jet of Embraer(Brazil). In the future, only time will tell if Boeing and Airbus continue to be the aircraft manufactury giants or if they will be defeated by other competitors. It will be the responsibility of airline think-tank to monitor the tendency.
