Description
Summary:碩士 === 長庚大學 === 機械工程學系 === 102 === Osteosynthesis surgery for the rib fracture is controversial and challenging. The aim of this study is to testify the application of the special designed poly(ε-caprolactone) based biodegradable rib fixator, the "cable-tie" fixator, for the osteosynthesis surgery for the rib fracture. Ribs fixed with the “cable-tie” fixators were less stiff than ribs fixed with Titanium plates (p<0.05). However, there were no dislodged of the locked mechanism and no new fracture while the stress increased. In the animal study, all ribs fixed with the “cable-tie” fixators showed union. There were significant side effects from the polycaprolactone during the bone healing. The rabbits treated by the hybrid lidocaine release electrospun PLGA nanofiber/the “cable-tie” fixator composites showed significant analgesic effect than the rabbits treated with the “cable-tie” fixators only in weight gaining, food and water consumption, and vitality (p<0.05). The biodegradable polycaprolactone “cable-tie” fixator performed well in the mechanical strength and fracture healing. At the same time, the hybrid lidocaine release electrospun PLGA nanofiber/the “cable-tie” fixator composite provided excellent analgesic effect after the ostsosynthesis surgery.
