Description
Summary:碩士 === 長庚大學 === 化工與材料工程學系 === 102 === In this study, gold(Au) was used to study the electrochemical oxidation of carbon monoxide (CO) in acidic or alkaline electrolytes. The experimental results indicate that micro-electrode of gold and metal clusters may measure limiting currents without using rotating disk electrode approaches. Using Au-microelectrode results in limiting currents without rotation. Microelectrode is defined as having at least one dimension of an electrode in the micrometers, and the importance of these electrodes is as following (i)small amount of current ; (ii) small size; (iii) A satisfying transition from linear to spherical diffusion at increasing time of measurements. The electrochemical oxidation of dissolved carbon monoxide (CO) on Au-RDE is mainly diffusion-controlled process at the potential greater than 0.6 V (vs. RHE) in acidic electrolytes and 0 V (vs. RHE) in alkaline, respectively. Fabricated Au-microelectrode is used to study the rates of mass transfer of the dissolved carbon monoxide (CO) electrocatalysis in acidic and alkaline system.
