Oftentimes, the injured people are trapped inside the warped vehicle bodies after the impact of the accident and they are unable to escape immediately. They must rely on the fire department to arrive on the scene and provide assistance through using of destruction equipments before they can escape and receive medical attention. Of the destruction equipments used by the fire department, there are certain times and principles when different types of equipments are used, including hydraulic, electric, pneumatic, and manually operated equipments. The purpose of this study focused on the state of the trapped vehicle body and the characteristics of each type of destruction equipments to explore and analyze how destruction equipments should be used when people become trapped during traffic accidents for maximum rescue efficiency. Data is compiled and analyzed to determining how different types of equipments should be combined during the rescue in traffic accidents to enhance mobility of rescue and how each fire department should prioritize in purchasing different types of destruction equipments. Analysis which combines research indicators such as traffic accident type, state of vehicle body after traffic accident, state of damage to the trapped vehicle, and location of the traffic accident concludes that apart from cases where scooters are trapped underneath cars and require equipment with lifting functionality for rescue, most other cases of trapped vehicle accidents require equipment with cutting function to destroy the warped vehicle bodies while assisting those who are trapped to escape. Of this type of equipment, statistics showed that hydraulic destruction equipment was used the greatest number of times and with the most frequency. In addition, serious traffic accidents may require the use of a combination of several types of equipments for simultaneously rescue in order to successfully complete the mission. Through organizing cases related traffic accidents as well as the author’s own working experiences, results in this study establish related rescue data in order to achieve the aforementioned aims. In addition to suggesting that each fire department purchase hydraulic destruction equipments as well as pneumatic action equipments to fortify rescue efforts, this paper also covers the fact that education and training from original equipment manufacturers as well as assembled training for each fire department play vital roles. These elements ensure significant improvements to the familiarity of use for various types of destruction equipment as well as rescue decisions.
