The results were based on data analysis and the conclusion were as follow. (1)The motivation of the elderly to participate in literacy education courses mostly due to" their unfortunate childhood deprivation of education", " the will to learn reading and writing ", " the family's expectations , encouragement and support ." (2) The elderly involved in continuous motivation of literacy education courses mainly due to " the interesting lessons created by the teacher, learning atmosphere , concern, encouragement " ," their level were close , feelings in harmony, encourage each other , interact with each other sharing thought and experience" , " satisfaction with the current learning and learning activities will not stop . " (3)Changes after learning in the elderly persons who participated in literacy courses were mainly: " improvement in life mobility ", " improvement in writing , and expression with Mandarin ", " increased interaction with family and the subjects in conversation" According to the conclusions of the study, the suggestions were as follow. (1)Due to the learning needs of the elders, especially the elderly deprivation of education , literacy programs should be widely set up and encouragement and information should be easily gain access by such elderly person , giving them the opportunity to participate in educational learning activities. (2)To encourage literacy education curriculum classes, the duration of study should be more than four consecutive years , in order to facilitate continuous learning . (3)To strengthen the training of teachers of elderly person , encourage diversified teaching strategies to meet the need of learning characteristics of the elders. (4) To encourage the country to promote affectionate family life , the promotion of Chinese proverb " an elderly in house , is a treasure indeed" activities to enhance the love and respect for the elderly.
