Summary: | 博士 === 國立中正大學 === 中國文學系暨研究所 === 102 === Aiming at the Taiwanese Fu, this thesis will analyze the "identity" (or to say social status) of the creators of the Fu as it has tremendous impact on the written. In order to systematically understand the backgrounds and the intentions of the creations, this study will categorize the writers' identities as travelling official scholar, gentry and folk literati.
Carried on the missions from the ruling, such as governess and indoctrination, the travelling official scholars came to Taiwan usually shown a strong exotic aura, highlighted the beauty and morality, thus to represent the loyalty to the ruler. To publicize the so-called universal value and standard through Fu, with the same official positions, scholars consistently criticized those who rebelled.
After mid-Ch’ing Dynasty, the gentry in Taiwan formed gradually, and rose to express his or her own visions, emotions, perspectives on various agenda through Fu. Yet, until the Japanese Colonial period, as the new media soared, the official printing was no longer the sole publication, the folk literati developed and acted in full swing. The Fu then displayed all kinds of social phenomenon.
Fu writers' social status, in a way, must have affected by his or her upbringing, educational background and so on.
His or her criterions and value system, thus, must have elaborated in the writings of Fu, and to communicate with the readers. The identity/ the status of the writers thus dominate his or her way of perceiving the world, and compose his or her horizon.
Through examining these Taiwanese Fu, through the eyes of the writers in which they contemplate the inner and outer world, it is more than worth to explore the light of his or her gaze, and those various horizons.
