Because it is convenience for people to use the multimode smart phone. People like to use different kind of mode to surf the internet. We can Line and Whatsapp to friends when sitting in the caf#westeur042# by accessing WiFi or we can take a video telephone to family when taking a trip by accessing WiMax, 3.5G or 4G. In real time multimedia services, users may not miss any word they talked. By achieve the real time constrain in interactive multimedia service, we need to depend on the minimum end to end delay. Because when end to end delay is too long, the quality of service (Qos) for voice and the video will be decrease. With the end to end delay constrain, the Multipath Fading in wireless network will cause the packet loss which impact the Qos of real time services. We need to retransmit the packet to decrease packet loss. But when we retransmit the packet frequently, the end to end delay might be longer, so it is a trade-off. In ours’ paper we propose an Optimal Packet Lifetime Estimation Algorithm (OPLEA) by using the PR-SCTP’s feature “packet lifetime” to optimize the quality trade-off between packet loss and end to end delay in real time interactive multimedia service with multipath transfer.
