| Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 社會暨政策科學學系 === 101 === This study was aimed to inquire the behaviors and consciousness of females’ Bra Wearing Behaviors, and to analyze how females interpret body performance through Bra Wearing Behaviors. Based on the viewpoint of Foucault’s body politics, Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical theory, and the viewpoint of Judith Butler’s gender performance and Feminism, this study discussed and analyzed the issue. Also, this study analyzed Bra Wearing Behaviors from the perspective of consumer culture.
This study interviewed the women in general, the bra counter sales, and the Feminism of scholars.The conclusion of this research is induced as follows:First, Bra Wearing Behaviors were affected by moral disciplines, teachings, and practices. The standard women body shape formed by mass media also play impact role; however, some of the interviewees still considered their own conditions and decided the actions they took. Second, females’ Bra Wearing Behaviors were differentiated by front stage or back stage. The present occasions and the people in the occasions were the key. Ways that interpret gender performance via showing breasts were mainly indirect implications which contained the standard image of beauty and uncertainty.
Third, brassiere contained the functional aspect and the nonfunctional aspect which was formed by enjoyment of aesthetics and experience. Brassiere can even possess a beyond functional aspect. Fourth, the relations among gender equity consciousness, real gained gender equity power, and Bra Wearing Behaviors did not certainly correlate. Most of the time, love and harmonious relationships between two genders are the final concern for females.
This study suggests that through the education of Feminism and the cultivation of media literacy, females’ self-consciousness can be aroused. Females are suggested to practice Feminism in real life, honestly face their own desires and limits, find the balance between the two, and being adept at self-body-performance.
