The main purpose of this study was to research the current status of the environmental attitude and environmental behavior for Taiwanese adult population, and to research the influence of demographic factors and environmental risk perception on population’s environmental attitude and environmental behavior, and the influence of environmental attitude on population’s environmental behavior. The study reached the following conclusions: 1. Taiwanese adult population have positive environmental attitude. 2. Taiwanese adult population’s environmental behavior is not positive enough. 3. Six demographic factors: age, residential place, diploma attained, income, social stratum and member of environmental club have significant influence on the population’s environmental attitude. Only sex was not significantly different at environmental attitude. 4. All of the factors including sex, age, residential place, diploma attained, income, social stratum and member of environmental club have significant influence on the population’s environmental behavior. 5. Environmental risk perception have significant influence on the population’s environmental attitude and environmental behavior. Moreover, the population’s score of high environmental risk perception are higher than the low environmental risk perception. 6. Environmental attitude have significant influence on the population’s environmental behavior. Moreover, the population’s score of positive environmental attitude are higher than the passive environmental attitude. Finally, according to the conclusions above, this study made the following suggestions. First, the Environmental Protection Administration Executive Yuan shoud promote the legislation of subsidiary regulations of Environmental Education Act, encourage citizens to take part in environmental protection groups, and establish an social atmosphere that values environmental protection. Second, the local government should promote the concept of green consumption. What’s more, it should be devoted to reduce the rural-urban disparity of population’s environmental attitude and environmental behavior.
