Now, people value leisure gradually and are free to choose their leisure activity. People are willing to experience enjoyment of leisure and the benefit from it. After participating in the leisure activity of interest, teachers not only can release stress from working and living during activity, but also bring their potential into full play. Moreover, leisure activity also let teachers learn specialty news and literacy in different fields, and strengthen their specialty. This study use Qualitative Research as a tool. Trying to understand the motive of participating in leisure activity for elementary school teachers, and the factors that affect their leisure experiences by the depth interviews with fifteen elementary teachers living in Taoyuan city and references analysis. And furthermore, to discuss the four beneficial results from leisure activities of teachers’ physiology, psychology, social contact and specialty progress. Researcher presented eight conclusions, which are as follows: (1) Relax and relief, making good friends and keeping good relationships, fulfilling a sense of accomplishment, personal interests, and developing interests and specialty are five motives make elementary teachers participate in leisure activities. (2) Accomplishing self-achievement, supporting from the family and friends, the hobbit of exercising, forging ahead vigorously for the techniques, and relaxing are five factors make elementary teachers participate continuously in leisure activities. (3) The serious attitude toward leisure activities affects the experience to the leisure activities positively, and also makes teachers participate in the leisure activities they like with plans and goals. (4) Elementary school teachers can all face the constraints in positive and optimistic attitude, so there’s not much affects from leisure constraints. (5) There are five physical effects for elementary school teachers to participate in leisure activities: improving the health, feeling in spirits, dissipating fatigue, getting better from the sickness, and keeping fitness. (6) There are four psychological effects for elementary school teachers to participate in leisure activities: self-growth, being in cheerful, relaxing, and fulfillment. (7) There are three social contact effects for elementary school teachers to participate in leisure activities: getting much closer to the companies, sharing the ideas with the companies, making new friends. (8) Courses design and teaching arrangements, class management and student guidance, setting up student leisure clubs, and teaching the right concepts of leisure activities are four effects of professional growth when elementary school teachers participate in leisure activities. Finally, researcher makes recommendations to the educational authorities, schools, teachers, and related research in the future by the result above.
