The forming process of printed circuit board due to its distinguishing characteristics of the longer process time, the lower equipment capacity and its milling quality is not easy to be improved; therefore, it is the prior problem that the printed circuit board manufacturers attempt to improve. The traditional design of experiment is to analyze the cross key factors in the experiment, it is time- consuming and the accuracy is not high. This study adopt DMAIC method in Six Sigma management strategy to the forming process of printed circuit board production. The author conduct the improvement plan for the parameter optimization of milling cutter in the CNC-Routing process, and select the cutting quality of forming process and the broken milling cutter rate as the key quality factors. This study analyzes and verifies the experiment data based on the sequential steps of “define measure, analyze, improve, and control” in DMAIC method. According to the test indicator of the experiment results, it shows that the capability of CNC-routing process is improved significantly, and the yield is reached the expected goal of the chief executives.
