Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 工業工程與管理學系 === 101 === A Wireless Body Area Network(WBAN) is composed of a set of sensor nodes, placed on or within a human body. Sensor nodes exhibit characteristics of simple structure, small volume, light weight, and low energy. If sensor nodes consume energy too fast, it will increase the frequency of battery change of the sensor nodes. This makes WBAN users uncomfortable and inconvenient. It’s a very important task to increase the lifetime of WBAN by energy harvesting, proper usage, and energy consumption management.
WBAN has received significant attention during the past years. In sensor nodes energy harvesting, considering the characters of the sensor node and habits of the human user, we can use the external energy(solar energy, wind power, etc.) or the body energy.(heat and movement) For energy saving, WBAN can select the most energy-efficient sensor nodes to be the gateway, and re-select the gateway with an energy threshold. However, if residual energy of sensor nodes are too close, the gateway will change often. As a result, sensor nodes are wasting energy and the lifetime of WBAN will be decreased.
In this paper, restrictions on WBAN used to the human being, we use energy harvesting from human body to increase the energy of sensor nodes. To present a improvement Gateway Selection Mechanism(GSM) that works gateway selection with fix executed time or limit energy. Energy of sensor nodes used improvement GSM can to consume proportion and properly.
The lifetime of WBAN with GSM is longer than that with the fix-type gateway. The lifetime of WBAN with improvement GSM is the longest and useful. It’s also more convenient and comfortable for WBAN users.
