Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 全球運籌管理研究所碩士班 === 101 === This study investigates students addicted to smartphones and specifically looks at how this addiction affects relationships. We investigate the relationship between the following variables: 1) college background, 2) motivation for using a smartphone, 3) addictive uses of smartphones, and 4) negative effects of using smartphones. 285 university students studying at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology were the subjects. They were given questionnaires to collect establish two scales: 1) A smartphone Addiction Scale, and 2) a scale assessing motivation for using the smartphone and the negative affects of its use on relationships. We used the sample T-test, one way ANOVA, correlation analysis and other statistical methods to do our data analysis. We also compiled descriptive statistics. The main findings are as follows: 1) Students who use the applications more have greater addictive tendencies, 2) the longer students have and use smartphones, the higher the possibility of becoming addicted, 3) the most important motivation for using a smartphone is to meet with other students, and 4) rest disorders and psychological disturbance levels are the most important problems being affected by this addiction.
