Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 視覺傳達設計系碩士班 === 101 === Owing to the trend in recent years, “cultural industrialization and industrial culturalization” issues have been explored continuously, which turns the industrialization with local cultural characteristics into a major driving force for local economic development. Each region in Taiwan turns the “local specialty” into the mainstream industry in order to bring the promotion and business opportunities for local industries. “Xingang Maltose” with a century of history has always been known as the local product of Xingang Township, Chiayi County, but the packaging design of “Xingang Maltose” does not show the cultural characteristics of Xingang Township. It’s hoped that this creation can reshape the packaging design of “Xingang Maltose”, so as to convey the distinctive local industries of Xingang Township. This researcher carried out the creation research on the local specialty products packaging design of “Xingang Maltose” products, and the main creation methods are applied to three stages. The first stage is “literature review”, which is to understand the development origin and characteristics of Xingang Township and to conceive the packaging design in the researches on local characteristics. The second stage is “deep interviews” and “questionnaire survey”, which is to collect more vivid history and story of Xingang Township by qualitative research through semi-structured interviews and then to collect local knowledge and views in order to understand the local characteristics and development of Xingang Township by quantitative research as the reference for the design idea. The third stage is “packaging design creation” of local specialty; it’s believed through literature collection and conclusion that the local product characteristics used by local cultural industries are four major levels, namely, “uniqueness”, “localization”, “story” and “monumentality”, Through depth interview and questionnaire survey, we will develop a series of packaging design from four different levels, so as to deliver the features of Xingang Township''s local culture industry from the packaging of Xingang Maltose. Packaging is a bridge between producers and consumers. This thesis will integrate qualitative and quantitative viewpoints in the final design creation and highlight the local characteristics to render the combination of products and culture.
