Comparison with the basic government employee and resident about environmental pollution issues - a county in southern Taiwan for example

碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 環境與安全衛生工程系碩士班 === 101 === This study compared the different about the awareness of environmental pollution between the basic government employee using questionnaire and resident using official statistics and questionnaire. The results showed that since 1997, the rate increased 17% about event of environmental pollution in this county every year; and air pollution, sanitation and noise pollution often happened. About the survey, there were 714 questionnaires for investigation, and then received 404 questionnaires and effective questionnaires were 392. On satisfaction about treatment of environmental pollution, 37% of resident was satisfied, and about 45% were dissatisfied in the past literature about this county. Comparison with the basic government employee in this study, the results showed 30% of satisfaction on the treatment of environmental pollution, and only about 9% were dissatisfied. It should the basic government employee and the environmental agency in this county both belong to official agency, so they selected conservative opinions. Moreover, comparison with past literature about resident and this study about basic government employee, 52% of resident selected that Environmental Protection Bureau officers were fast to scene of environmental pollution for treatment, but only 30% of basic government employee thought so. The result indicated that Environmental Protection Bureau officers endeavored to solve the environmental problem and the resident agreed. However, 54% of resident in past literature thought that the pollution sources were only ameliorated a litter even still exist but only 7% of the basic government employee in this study thought so. It suggested that the basic government employee should develop empathy with resident in environmental pollution problems.
