In view of the country will be faced with an aging and declining birthrate of the situation, will give rise to huge social issues and needs in the future will catch up in Japan''s footsteps, becoming the world''s second aging population, low birth rate, negative population growth countries, leading to future prime of life of the elderly population will bear the majority of living, if childcare, it will be double pressure, so in order to be self-sufficient nursing the elderly population over retirement, provided specifically for the elderly living environment, an important consideration will be the future market. Some places in residential design designed specifically for the elderly population, such as installing bathroom handrails, non-slip facility or barrier-free facilities, or provide medical services within the community, the design entertainment to assist elderly colorful lives, providing free and dignified living environment, enjoy a happy retirement.
In this study, data collection through interviews with experts to understand the necessities of life for the elderly, living needs of its key features are summarized, and in accordance with features designed to survey the degree of importance. Finally, the Quality Function house (House of quality, HOQ) matrix to help identify the relationship between tenants and designers. The results of this study show barrier-free space, bedroom space, security and surveillance systems, bathroom space, reserved space designed to increase the subject of other important aids in planning the design is very important, the results can provide construction company or architect to design reference.
