The way of treating others and attitude can be influenced by education. Everyone has been educated by family, school and society.While others, the directions of education in school now become more academic advancement. But these educational directions only put much more emphasis on the intelligence of student than on the spirit, which resulting in ignorance of physical and physic development. With the purpose to guide students to contemplate on physical and physic development and to cultivate their positive views on life, General Education Center in National Yunlin University of Science and Technology offers a course called “Life education” for freshmen as an obligatory course. By using “Life Meaning Test” ,“Life Attitude Profile “ , and “Learning Attitude.”, this research could get clear understanding on the effect on life-value and meanings for students. The research can be divided into two parts: firstly, the data of students in this class will be analyzed before and after taking the Life Education Class with the view to understanding whether there is difference on life-meaning value for students before and after taking the Life Education Class. Secondly, the research will compare students who took the Life Education Class with those who did not to explore the difference on life-meaning values. The research puts students in National Yunlin University of Science and Technology from 2010 to 2012 academic year as the research population. The first research subjects were students in 2012 academic year by using stratified random sampling and picking 682 samples. After implementing the questionnaire, 598 amples were effective. The second research subjects were student from 2010 to 2011 academic year by using stratified random sampling and picking 990 samples. After implementing the questionnaire, the 599 samples were effective. The data of this research were analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test, and Pearson product-moment correlation. The research results are listed below. 一、 Students understand better life meaning after taking the course. 二、 Students understand better life-meaning values than those who do not take the course. 三、 There were significant relationships between gender, college, and religion, life attitude, and learning attitude among the students from 2010 to 2012 academic year. Explanations of the findings were offered, and applications of the study were discussed. Finally, some suggestions for future studies were identified and discussed.
