Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 醫學工程研究所 === 101 === Epidural anesthesia is a highly experience dependent procedure. It is a challenge to properly position the epidural needle into the epidural space without dural puncture which damages the dura maters. Avoiding dural puncture, we develop a ultrasound needle transducer epidural positioning system. We use lead zirconate titanate (PZT-5H) as active piezoelectric crystal, which is the most mature material in fabricating ultrasound transducer in Taiwan. In this study, a high-frequency single-element needle transducer with an aperture size of 0.5×0.5 mm2, needle length is 14 cm, and the center frequency is 30 MHz. After fabrication the measured -6 dB center frequency and bandwidth were 27.4 MHz ~ 36 MHz and 14% ~ 59.1%. In clinical animal experiments acquired the A-mode signals by needle ultrasound transducer. Than use these signals to identify the needle’s position inside the body. At present, we’ve successfully measured the signals of Dura Mater. In this study we provide the design and fabrication’s procedure of lead zirconate titanate high frequency ultrasound transducer. We’ve successfully verification that the ultrasound transducer is able to identify the position of epidural space. In the future, we will try to use this system in other surgery’s position.
