Summary: | 碩士 === 育達商業科技大學 === 資訊管理所 === 101 === The field of Green IT has undergone many fluctuations and shifts over the years. From the promotion of its development to the formulation of product standard, Green IT is a field that is in a state of constant change. European Union proposed a framework for environmental directives (WEEE,RoHS,EuP,etc) that has withstood the test of time. This makes companies have to face the trend of the worldwide promotion in green products and the huge impact for the related industries. The majority of research in Green IT has focused on saving energy and reducing carbon. The research is still at an early stage in evaluating energy saving and carbon reduction, not to mention a paucity of literature on this subject. However, to date, there has been relatively little research conducted on Green IT.
This paper will focus on the steps of Green IT for industrial. In this paper we present a conceptual framework for linking Green IT and energy saving and carbon reduction. In view of the preceding research purpose, major sets of research questions to be addressed in this study are as follows:
1. How to combine the companies' Green IT development with the government policies
2. For companies, how to save energy and reduce carbon to achieve the Green IT goal
3. Under the green atmosphere, how to start from green buildings to whole companies
It is hoped that answering these questions will contribute to our understanding of the relationship between Green IT and energy saving and carbon reduction. And hope it can also provide reference to companies when they response the challenge. Meanwhile, companies can have the deep potential to upgrade the competitive abilities in the international market.
