Summary: | 碩士 === 大同大學 === 資訊工程學系(所) === 101 === With the rapid development of high bandwidth networks, the applications of real-time multimedia streaming is more and more widely. There is a drawback in the traditional Client/Server architecture, that is the server's bandwidth will never satisfy the needs of all clients. Therefore, P2P architecture was emerged. The P2P network can use the user's upload bandwidth to approach two major advantages: to reduce the network load on the central server and to service more users.
The proposed mechanism in this paper is based on the concepts of Bittorrent system. The proposed mechanism is more suitable for streaming online play in P2P network. First, the cost calculated from the uploading bandwidth and latency of each piece providing node. The downloading order of nodes are found by the broadcasting procedures, then the nodes of similar cost reply the broadcasting. When the download is demanded, these peers will be evaluated again then download as the order. It will reached the maximum utilization of the peer's download bandwidth, thereby enhancing the effect playback quality.
In this paper, we get the simulation data and verify the proposed mechanism by a series of simulations. From the simulation data, we can make the following conclusions. The proposed mechanism is more suitable when these peers in a highly busy uploading situation. In addition to start-delay time, the proposed mechanism has different degrees of improvement in the performance of other performance indicators.
