Properly utilizing the valuable resource of a physical machine over a virtualized environment and promoting the efficiency on a cloud computing are the important topics. However, the most researches focused on CPU allocation only. Although by adjusting CPU resource can raise the system performance up to a certain level, it still cannot enhance the performance of massive memory usage. In this thesis a Dynamic CPU and Memory Resource Allocation Mechanism (DCMRAM)has been proposed. The dynamic CPU allocation mechanism (Dynamic Adjustment of Virtual Machine Computing Resources, DAVMCR) and the dynamic memory allocation based on Extenics and ballooning mechanism (Extenics-Based Dynamic Memory Allocation Scheme, EBDMAS) are integrated in the proposed sysem to enhance the system performance. Both DAVMCR and EBDMAS mechanisms were implemented over the XEN platform. The experiment results showed that the proposed method had improved the performance of a virtual system.
