After the tablet PC was published to this world, personal mobile device market is occupied with astonishing rate; moreover, tablet PC also brings up the mobile game market. However, the software and hardware functions improve constantly. Tablet PC, from before single function to at the present multi-functions, also contains all features that handheld game console has. Plus, in additional to the smart phone, it is more obvious that tablet PC is another main platform to run the mobile games. This research focuses on 2 kinds of game - Battle City and Dig Dug, and by using 2 different interfaces which are touching and real joystick, discovers our the discrepancy on operation. There are 20 experimental-sample testers, who are between 26-35 years old (Male for 12, female for 8). Using questionnaire and task testing conducts the experiment. On the questionnaire, we are aimed at 3 points that are "Experience of user interface", "Experience on operating games on different interfaces", "Haptic description on operating interfaces". After testers touch the real machine, they fill in the questionnaire which applied Likert scale and Semantic differential scale. testers would use 3 different cooperating controllers under the assigned tasks first, and then we record 3 factors of time, success rate, and failed reasons. Furthermore, the performance that testers operate 2 different interfaces of the touching and real joystick would be analyzed. On the statistical analysis, we used the repeated measures and LSD tests to know, 2 different interfaces have obvious discrepancies on same game. It indicates that on the “Real controlling interfaces”, testers’ identifications on “interface feedback”, “mis-touch interface”, and “intuitively recognize key position” are higher than “touching interface”. On haptic description, after tester finish operation, they consider that “real interface” is better than “touching”. On tasking testing part, time limitation, success rate of passing game, and the failure factors also show “real interface” is better than “touching” on operation performance. For future development of the Tablet PC platform into the game, all compared statistics on each experiment of this research would be used as a reference to empirical performance on different interfaces operation.
