In the context of globalization, "multi-culture" reflects the characteristics of the new era, and impacts the previous thinking way. It has become the administration's main educational reform and policy direction. The current Taiwan musical education began to focus on multicultural teaching. The official syllabus tries to promote the "cultural learning and international understanding" ability. In advocating diverse learning the occasion, music culture plays an important role in educational function.
Multi-culture not only emphasizes recognition and difference, but also pursues mutual respect and equal value of all cultures. And then it achieves the significance of identity. Through the observation of junior high music lessons, I can figure out the condition of music teaching of nowadays, whether to render multicultural spirit of recognizing difference and identity. In addition to peruse, collate and rearrange the concept of multi-culture, I am going to analyze the constructions of musical identity and awareness on the basis of Taiwan's diverse ethnic groups, and explore diverse musical culture teaching difficulties and dilemmas. In conclusion, I am attempt to show out some of my introspections and viewpoints according to specific situation and representation of musical education.
