The purpose of this research is the first Taiwanese record that the International Women's Baseball Association certified Liu Bo-Jiun as a baseball umpire. She had to understand what it takes to become a referee, and how to develop the training.
Further research is about a Taiwanese baseball field considered a masculine environment. She had been through gender-examination, and prejudice against traditional concepts. And also she dealt with how to adapt this environment and how to position herself.
The referees expressly make judgment in the rules. But according to the research result, their understanding or awareness of each player as well as the field position or viewing angle are likely to affect the judgment. So the personal and subjective factors of the referees also contribute to the important judgment. And then If we changed our thinking to face the different gender on the court, is it based on a cultural environment baseball? Or is it traditional taboos under the concept of superstition? Or finally, after all, the judgment is still depend on the individual.
