There is a great deal of literature about the technique of filling losses in paper whether in Asian or western conservation treatment. It is suggested that the thickness of the inserted paper need to be similar and undamaged to the object. Since filling losses in paper takes time and empirical conservator is scant, the aim of this article attempts to find a new technique to filling losses safely by using reversible filling material- cellulose powders. This research involved induction, experiment and implements. It consists of three sets: literature collection of filling loose in paper, the evaluation of airbrush technique applied to filling with cellulose powders and conservation perform. Cellulose ether is not only reversible but also stable. Airbrush can produce a certain predictable result by spraying. The experiment in this research tried to find out the appropriate mixture of cellulose powder and the viscosity, then spray the mixture to cover the losing area of paper object by airbrush. The result presented that airbrush technique performs an efficient way in filling losses of paper. It has successfully restored a hand scroll of Li, Lin-Can in follow-up conservation treatments. To conclude, this study may offer a different and timesaving method of filling losses of paper, as well as solving the problem when the inserted paper is not thin enough to fit the object. 蔡斐文 林勝伴 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 88 zh-TW |
