Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 機械與機電工程學系碩士班 === 101 === Plano-convex lenses and lens-arrays are widely used in optical and optoelectronic systems. In certain applications, especially when high working temperature or long term ultra-violet exposure are involved, glass is more environmental sustainable than plastic material. However, generating glass lensarrays are far more complicated than those made of plastics. Though glass molding process is considered to be a very effective way for making precision glass lenses, the high cost of producing the precision WC molds is, in the case of applications in lighting, just too much and not necessary. This study aims to investigate the feasibility of producing glass plano-convex lens array by molding glass plate against a WC/Co plate with corresponding micro-hole arrays. Both experimental and FEM-based simulations study are carried out in this research to clarify the influence of open die/closed die molding, hole diameter, hole pitch,
glass thickness and glass size on the curvature and uniformity of the obtained lenses. The results showed that way of molding, hole diameter/pitch and glass thickness all have profound effects on the achievable curvature of the obtained lenses.
