This study analyzed the questionnaire to investigat the transportation mobility on non-medical trips for seniors in Taiwan. Non-medical trip purposes include the following activities: outdoor exercises, visiting neighbors, friends, and family, shopping, farming, leisure, and religious activities. The trip frequencies of elderly people and the range of activities (measured according to trip distances from home) were investigated to measure the transportation mobility of elderly people regarding various trip purposes. The result of this study shows that trip frequencies and activity scope are difference by gender, the accessibility of bus service and the the level of walking capability. In addition, the factors influence the trip frequencies and the activity scopes of elderly people for short- distance and long-distance trips including the level of walking capability, the level of depression and the transportation mode of respondents. Especially in the location with inconvenience bus service, the destinations are far away from seniors’ home.Therefor, this study suggests that Demand Responsive Transportation Service(DRTS) can be used to familiar senior and those who have special needs. The most important is that the government should develop a subsidy mechanism in order to active aging.
