Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 國際事務與戰略研究所碩士班 === 101 === Receiving benefit from the rapid upgrading of China''s economic development,which making China’s defense budget to be stable growth and creating favorable conditions for its military modernization.Moreover,the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) continues learning about the sea power theories of Mahan and Corbert,so far China has show the trend of progressive expansion of sea power in Western Pacific.And Beijing even hopes to control Western Pacific,to impede the presence of United States Navy in this region. Therefore,this study intends to explore that influence of expansion of China’s sea power toward U.S. naval force deployment in Western Pacific region. This study has found that China continues to expand sea power and develops Anti-Access, Area Denial asymmetric strategic capabilities; it’s not only weakens U.S. naval supremacy,increase threatens to U.S. forward deployment, but also erosions U.S. maritime predominance in Western Pacific.To ensure U.S. sea power primacy,the strategic choice of Washington is seeks to reestablishing balance in East Asia-Western Pacific. Including develops new concept of overseas military operations, which defined as Air-Sea Battle.At the same time,U.S.also building closer defense ties with its allies and potential allies enhancing forward deployed forces in East Asia, making its military presence turn to lean and agile new posture.In other words,U.S.does its efforts at preserving its marictime primacy in Western Pacific.
