Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 服務與科技管理研究所 === 101 === Many scholars argued about Cournot and Bertrand competition and discussed the advantages and weaknesses of price-quantity competition. Besides, some researchers discussed that the relationship occurred between different variables and price-quantity competition. It is interesting to explore R&D competition in price or quantity, and what type of competition model can well explain the service sector. The classifications in the service sector are complex. Hence, it is difficult to find the model which can well explain the service sector. For developed countries, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and percentage of employees are high in the service sector. Hence, the study wants to explore what kinds of competition can explain the service sector. Based on the work of Flath (2012), this study proposes a method to determine what the suitable model is to explain R&D competition in the service sector. The result of the study is that the hybrid model is the suitable model to explain in the service sector. The research contributions are that the most explainable model is proposed of exploring R&D price-quantity competition in the Taiwanese service sector and realize the different characteristics in the service sector.
