China’s international status has been upgraded with the gesture of so called “peaceful rise”. However, reform and growth have created opportunities of corruption. Lack of monitoring mechanism encourages official rent seeking and abuse of power which pose a serious threat for the stability of the regime. In order to cope the unbridled situation, the National Bureau of Corruption Prevention is formed and acts as an anti-corruption agency in recent years in addition to Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Ministry of Supervision, and People’s Prosecution Anti corruption Bureau. With the nature of so called “Chinese character” these agencies have not been able to perform effectively to solve the grievances of Corruption. Such results are generally considered to be a design problem in anti-corruption mechanism led by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Ministry of Supervision, worthy of further research and exploration.
