碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 休閒與遊憩管理學系碩士在職專班 === 101 === The Scale of Triathlon Identification and its Correlates Abstract The study aims to develop the scale of triathlon identification and investigate the factors influencing the identification. Questionnaires were distributed in 2012 Annual Youth Triathlon held by Republic of China Triathlon Sports Association in Fu Hsing Kang College on September 9th, 2012. In total, 532 questionnaires were distributed and 529 returned were valid. Content validity, predictive validity, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used to verify the triathlon identification scale including four dimensions: importance and meaning, understanding and concern, self-expression, and self-esteem and achievement. Criterion validity showed that the verbal triathlon identification scale correlated positively with sport capacity in triathlon and with a graphic scale for the measurement of the identification. The major factors influencing the triathlon participation were individual sport capacity, peers, and time. Key words: Triathlon, sport identification, sport capacity
