Summary: | 碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 經營管理學系碩士在職專班 === 101 === Social networking websites have been flourishing these days. More than being platforms for making friends, they enable those who share the same interests to connect and communicate with each other through the Internet. Social networking websites also offer teachers a convenient way for communicating with other teachers and students. They can express their feelings, develop relationships with other teachers, improve their teaching performance and even relieve pressure from work, which helps to influence their teaching attitudes in a positive way.
This study aimed to find out how teachers are using social networking websites and to explore the influence of teachers’ self-disclosure and social support from social networking websites might have upon negative mood regulation. Survey was conducted using questionnaire which includes measures on the use of social networking websites, the scales of self-disclosure, the scale of social support, and negative mood regulation on social networking websites. Internal consistency measured by Cronbach’s α and factor analysis were further used to assess the reliability and validity of the instruments respectively. Descriptive Statics, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, and regression analysis were conducted for the analysis of the data. The results revealed that the use of social networking websites has noticeable relationships with self-disclosure, social support, and negative mood regulation; and that the teachers’ self-disclosure and social support on those websites could be taken as an effective prediction of how their negative mood regulation would go on.
