It has been found to have a significant effect on day to day activities, thus leading to absenteeism in the work place or taking medication to carry out daily activities. This study was to estimate the prevalence and risk factors of Dysmenorrhea among working- aged women from 25-49 in Taiwan. Methods: This study consisted of 9,408 respondents undergoing a standard medical screening program run by MJ Health Management Institution, Taiwan, 2010. Prevalence of Dysmenorrhea was expressed by N and %. Associations between two categorical variables were analyzed by cross tabulations and related significant tests. We used binary logistic regressions to association Dysmenorrhea from the independent variables. Results: The prevalence of Dysmenorrhea was 43.7%. The prevalence was substantially higher in the respondents aged from 25-35 years than aged from 46-49 years (53.9% versus 35.7%). Younger single respondents were the higher prevalence of Dysmenorrhea. This study found that certain factors such as age, single status, high socioeconomic status, very inversely physical activity, obesity, irregular of menstrual period and long day duration of menstrual flow were found to be associations with Dysmenorrhea. There was no association between cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking and Dysmenorrhea. Conclusion: Dysmenorrhea is a common complaint among working- aged from 25-49 years women in Taiwan. By identifying risk factors, recommendations could be made to reduce Dysmenorrhea.
