Description
Summary:碩士 === 大仁科技大學 === 文化創意產業研究所 === 101 === In this digital age of information explosion and accessible electronic resources, university libraries will not be able to attract users to go inside to learn and to do research if they still play traditional roles. Therefore, traditional libraries need to be transformed. The transformed libraries are called "Learning Commons." The “Learning Commons” combines library space reconfiguration with virtual space information. “Learning Commons" not only supplies users with “one-stop" innovative information services but also promotes independent research and lifelong learning. The purpose of this study aims:(1)to discuss the meaning of “Learning Commons” in university libraries and current situations.(2)To investigate users’ satisfaction of the space in “Learning Commons” in university libraries.(3)To discuss users’ satisfaction of the environment and facilities in “Learning Commons” in university libraries.(4)To investigate users’ satisfaction of the participation in cultural activities of “Learning Commons” in university libraries.(5)To find out users’ usage frequency and elapsed time in “Learning Commons.”(6)To analysis service satisfaction and achievement results as future reference for “Learning Commons” in university libraries. Subjects in this study include users in three university libraries equipmented with “Learning Commons.” This research adopts questionaire analysis. The first empirical result presents positive effects on users’ satisfaction of environment space, facilities, and cultural activities. The second result shows that the space and cultural activities in “Learning Commons” have a positive impact on achievements while facilities does not. To sum up, users are satisfied with “Learning Commons” and are willing to make use of it for the second time. 79.9 percent of the users believe “Learning Commons” stimulates their learning motivations. They recommend that each university sets “Learning Commons” under budget permission to provide teachers and students with "one stop shopping" learning service.
