Description
Summary:碩士 === 大仁科技大學 === 製藥科技研究所 === 101 === The aim of this research was to assess the blood lipids modulating functions of the compounded preparations which are composed mainly of Eucheuma (Eucheuma okamurai Yamada ), Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus ) and Yam (Dioscorea opposite ) with different ratios. The hypolipidemic effects were initially assessed using a 3T3-L1 cell (a murine pre-adipocytes cell line) model. The results demonstrated significant inhibition on the lipid droplets accumulation in cells after treatment of Eucheuma compounded preparations. In addition, the safety of the preparations were also evaluated by acute oral toxicity testand found that the rats fed with high dose (5 g/Kg) were totally survived with good healthy status after feeding. Finally, the hypolipidemic effects were further assessed with animal model, in which the rats were consecutively fed with various doses (150-600 mg/kg/day) for 8 weeks. The results showed that the body weights, total cholesterol, triglycerideand low density lipoprotein levels were reduced dose-dependently. In conclusion, the Eucheuma compounded preparations are proved to be nontoxic hypolipidemic preparations that could be used for the improvement of hyperlipidemia and obesity.
