Description
Summary:碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 資訊工程系 === 101 === Geocasting can be used to perform regional broadcast to deliver geographic-related safety, commercials, and advertisements messages. Transmitting video contents to mobile nodes using geocasting can provide very attractive services. The challenging problem in geocasting video contents over MANETs is how to deliver the packets to all the mobile nodes with good presentation quality. To deal with such a problem, multiple description coding (MDC) and multiple forwarding zone (MFZ) schemes are introduced in this proposal to against the aforementioned deficiencies. In this thesis, a MDC-based packet recovery mechanism for video geocasting over MANETs is proposed. Multiple description coding (MDC) can provide error resilience for multimedia streaming in best-effort networks such as Internet. Multiple forwarding zone (MFZ) scheme is used to enhance the ability of fault tolerance. In conjunction with multiple forwarding zone (MFZ) scheme and MDC-based packet recovery, the proposed architecture can maximize video presentation quality to mobile nodes over MANETs.
