Summary: | 碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 光電工程系 === 101 === Improving efficiency and lifetime has been an important subject in the development OLED. In this study, a glove box was connected to an OLED system to establish a simple and reliable water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) test method. This is to employ a so-called calcium test to measure WVTR of a flexible substrate for OLED applications. An optimal packaging mode can also be defined accordingly.
Factors affecting WVTR such as packaging patterns, sealing materials and testing environment are discussed. Results showed that packaging using full-sealed with a single frame can obtain the lowest WVTR value of 4.48×10-6 g/m2/day at 20℃/60%RH, and 4.24×10-3g/m2/day at 40℃/90%RH. The WVTR value of PET substrate is 4.91×10-2 g/m2/day.
This study has demonstrated that packaging pattern, sealing material and packaging environment can give rise to a large influence on the value of WVTR in Calcium test. One has to lower the effects by these factors so that a real WVTR of a substrate can be measured. Accordingly, it can be used for improving OLED lifetime.
