Based on Ministry of the Interior 2013 demographic data, senior population can reach 2.60 million by October 2012, 10.15% of the total population, reflecting the fewer children and aging social phenomena. From the cell phone sale trends and aging society phenomena, the intention and behavior model of Smartphone usage studies on the middle and old age consumers can be a worthwhile topic in an aging society. Technology Acceptance model and Diffusion of Innovations theory are the research subjects of the study which adopts questionnaire investigation method in surveying senior consumers’ intention and behavior toward using Smartphones. Based on the evidence of this research, family and friends could potentially impact consumers and Smartphone has become a part of their daily lives and met their needs in the office due to user-friendly interface. To analyze their behaviors of the most-used application, camera is ranked as the top one except the basic calling function for a phone. In the aspect of marketing and advertisement, the camera-oriented promotion from a dealer could attract their attention to a Smartphone. For manufacturers, they may need to develop the phone with a user-friendly interface to penetrate the market. Nevertheless, Smartphone-related research should provide more practical information on the purchase tendency of a consumer aged 40 or above to a Smartphone, or the usage behavior of a student at elementary school or junior high school. This is highly recommended to the future research on the relevant topics due to the decline of the born rate in Taiwan since a decade ago. MENG-YOU CIOU 邱孟佑 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 80 zh-TW
