Description
Summary:碩士 === 世新大學 === 財務金融學研究所(含碩專班) === 101 === Thesis Title: The Investigation on the Correlation between Household Water Use and Electricity Use: Exemplified by Cities and Counties University and School Name: Master Program of Department of Finance, Shih Hsin University Graduation Year: 2013 (101 academic year, second semester master's degree thesis abstract) Graduate's Name: Luan Fuhua Advisor: Dr. Guo Naifeng Abstract Water and electricity is not only the indispensable necessity for every household’s daily life, but also plays the key role in the booming development of industry and commerce. To investigate the correlation between household water use and electricity use, the research uses the water use and electricity use during the period from 2007 to 2012 in the country's 22 counties and cities, including Keelung City, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan County, Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, Yilan County, Hualien County, Taitung County, Penghu County, Kinmen County, and Lianjiang County, for carrying out analysis. Because the source, EPA Eco Life clean house and attend to neighbors green living network, does not provide a complete data of water use of offshore Kinmen County and Lienchiang County, this study excludes Kinmen County and Lienchiang County and carries out the analysis using the data of Taiwan Island's 19 counties and cities, aw well as the Penghu Island. In this study, the data of water use and electricity use during the years from 2007 to 2012 in the 20 counties, is divided into two main categories: I. annual data (logarithm); II, monthly data (variation). I. Annual Data (logarithm) In the 20 counties and cities, each county or city has six pieces of annual data of water use (logarithm) and electricity use (logarithm) respectively. First, use water use (logarithm) as the explanatory variable, and electricity use (logarithmic) as explained variable, to conduct a regression analysis; then reversely use electricity use (logarithm) as the explanatory variable, and water use (logarithm) as the explained variable, to conduct a regression analysis. II, Monthly data (variation) In the 20 counties, each county has 72 (6×12) pieces of monthly data of water use and electricity use respectively. Subtract the former monthly amount from the latter monthly amount, and 60 pieces of monthly data of water use (variation) and electricity use (variation) can be acquired repectively. First, use water use (variation) as the explanatory variable, and electricity use (variation) as the explained variable, to conduct a regression analysis; then reversely use electricity use (variation) as the explanatory variable, and water use (variation) as the explained variable, to conduct a regression analysis for each county and city of the 20 counties separately. Use the explanatory variables and the explained variables to carry out plotting and regression analysis, to understand whether there is a significant effect and it is positive or negative, and then put forward conclusions and suggestions.
