Description
Summary:博士 === 國防大學政治作戰學院 === 政治研究所 === 101 === In normative ethics, besides teleology and deontology, virtue ethics is a newly emerging theory. MacIntyre believes that the modern moral world is in chaos and that the moral crisis in the West results from a serious moral disorder. The moral beliefs and principles have become a sole subjective choice and an expression of emotions. MacIntyre proposes three stages of ethics development: The first stage explains practice and background, the second one illuminates the narrative order of a single human life, and the last stage further clarifies what constitutes moral tradition. Expecting to be in a positive and interactive cycle, he keeps revising his theoretical foundations and practice conditions to come up with the ethics of what he wants to resume. Military ethics is the core of military ideology. Dr. Sun Yat-sen once said, "A country is founded on ethics, so is the world." The change of current national politics and social environment has highlighted the conflicts between the characters of post-modern society and the traditional military ethics. The increasing violation in national loyalty, personal duty, sexual equality, and corruption has also indicated the conflict between the moral value of the nation and society as a whole and the military ethics education. MacIntyre's theory about the nature of moral conflict, the view of emotionalism, and the practice of morality can serve as an inspiration for the military ethics education. Based on literature review, historical study, and fundamental question research methodology, this study examines the influence of MacIntyre's practice philosophy on the change of the military ethics education, summarizes the uniqueness and creativity of his philosophy, and analyzes the causes of the weakening military ethics in order to offer enlightenment for the military ethics education and to improve its outcome.
