The structural units in any society are interconnected, thus any sub-system’s change will certainly affect the whole. China’s reform and opening have changed its ideology and value system. However, the stagnation of its political development has extended its social contradictions while its economy accomplishment advanced at a very fast pace.
Western democratic countries mitigate their social contradictions by letting their people to participate in politics, through the participation and expression of their opinions, the society stabilized. On the other hand, China chooses to expand its armed police to stabilize the society and gain the control of it.
The development of armed police is tailored for China’s reformed society, its purpose is to integrate and stabilize the society, thus the needs of its social function decide the future development of armed police.
