Abstract Based on past studies, the deprivation of individuals’ basic need will step up perception of attractiveness, this research exams whether the sexual deprivation will raise the perception of physical attractiveness. Subjective sexual deprivation (i.e., people ‘s self-evaluation of their sexual satisfaction) , objective sexual deprivation (i.e., the frequency and period people have sex) and perception of physical attractiveness were measured. This research hypothesizes that subjective sexual deprivation may heighten the perception of attractiveness to others more than objective sexual deprivation do; furthermore, the effect will be greater for male Ss than for female. In Study 1 (N = 84), the results indicated that only partial objective sexual deprivation index have positive relationship with perception of attractiveness. In Study 2 (N = 88),a significant simple simple main effect shows that objective sexual deprivation (in partial index) of males has a significant effect on perception of attractiveness to same-sex others. In sum, the hypotheses of current research were partially supported. Keywords:deprivation, sexual satisfaction, gender differences, physical attractiveness
