Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 政治學系 === 101 === Throughout history, appearance of a new technology or weapon always brings changes to the concept of war and security, it could even affect international relations. Internet has been severely influential to human beings since it was developed in 1970s, it has become a main field of communication, so called "Cyberspace". In this thesis, the discussion will be about how Cyberspace, the thing that connects the whole human race, alters modern war type and the concept of security. First of all, there will be a brief introduction of history of Cyberspace development, it is about the journey of how it evolves through the years and how it influences global society mutually. Cyberspace has lowered the cost and fasten the speed of international communication, it is being accelerated when the previously mentioned obstacles no longer existed.
Secondly, a description of how Cyberspace influences modern war types. Mainly four aspects, 1. The alternation of choosing attack targets, 2. The change of weapon requirements for Army, 3. The change of military strategy and 4. The change of principles when declaring wars. A newly developed concept called Cyberspace security is included in the thesis as well. Lastly, two international incidents will be the examples to help analyze the influence that Cyberspace brought to modern international relations, which are 1. the Cyber war between US and Iran and 2. Google incident in China.
