The purpose of this study is to understand the family values of gay men. The researcher analyzes the different family values of gay men from different backgrounds and discusses how their backgrounds affect family values.
In this research, 204 gay men by completed “the family values of gay men questionnaire”. The contents describe and analyzes with descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis.
The results are as follows:
1.The family values of gay men are more modern.
2.The family values of gay men are with obvious difference among different ages, religions, residence, birth order, preference of intimacy, out of clouset or not, and types of family.
3.The ages and out of clouset or not can predict the gender role within the gay men family effectively.
4.The religion and out of clouset or not can predict untypical family values effectively.
5.The birth order, religion and family types can predict intergenerational and parental relationship effectively.
6.Whether out of clouset and the family types can predict the family values of gay men effectively.
Depending on the results, researcher provides some suggestions for gay men and their families, professional helpers, the general public and future studies.
