碩士 === 實踐大學 === 家庭研究與兒童發展學系碩士班 === 101 === Through the self-narrative of the only daughter from a single parent family, this study explored the influences of growing up in a single parent family on the researcher’s development of intimate relationships and interpersonal relationships. This study also discussed the triangle relationship among the researcher and her parents. The daughter who blamed her father for leaving the family showed her loyalty to her mother by blaming her father. Now this daughter can understand her father’s choice back then and is trying to understand the enmeshed relationship between her mother and herself, and moving toward a healthier mother-daughter relationship. This study brought about the researcher’s introspection on her helping profession, especially when working with clients with similar family background. By returning to her understanding of her own life experience, she not only helped herself but also develop more power to help others. Lastly, by writing this thesis, the researcher had a chance to have inner dialogue within her and had different insights into her own life experiences. This process helped the researcher to develop a more stable and peaceful inner energy, which leads her to the continuous road of self healing.
