In some large hospitals, healthcare information system (HIS) have long been completed, except for nursing information system (NIS). In the development of the overall healthcare information systems, nursing information systems are often not taken seriously, or even ignored. Traditional cart for nursing care is not configured with any information equipment provided for nurses to operate. What’s worse, one could even say that there is not any application of IT systems available for nurses. It is necessary for nurses in the clinical care process to hand-write transcribe medical records repeatedly, and record patient’s medical examination as well as medication information. Records of the process of the caring for the patients must be written in detail on paper-based medical records to provide physician’s reference. This method is not only time-consuming because the nurses have to do too much paperwork, and thus reduce the time of patient care, but this method also can cause errors easily. Therefore, so far as the quality of care and patient safety is concerned, there may be many potential risks. Many experts and scholars pointed out very early that those well-designed information systems will avoid medical errors. Recently, many hospitals began to develop nursing information systems in order to enhance patient safety and quality of care. So, mobile nursing information system has gradually become an indispensable tool in the health care process. Most of the early mobile nursing cart used an industrial type computer, which was through the client-server architecture to access healthcare information system. In order to make it convenient for the nurses to use the computer to record, the installation of power supplies in the nursing cart is the easiest way. However, because of the higher power consumption of the industrial type computer, extending the use of computer time by increasing the capacity of the battery is important. Therefore, a substantial increase the weight of the nursing cart not only causes nurses troubles, but also reduces the willingness of using. This study proposes to thin-client based e-nursing cart architecture, with internal private cloud nursing information system. This cart is built by the concept of desktop virtulazation, and provides nurses with easy operating interface. Thin client computer with fanless, diskless , low power consumption design not only can extend battery life, but also can significantly shorten fault repair time because hardware is easy disassemble, which may reduce the costs of hospital build e-nursing cart and reduce workload of IT staff. Because of the use of centralized management, the system may simultaneously benefit both advantages--- real - time and confidentiality. Wen, Chiahsien 溫嘉憲 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 77 zh-TW
