A patient is followed-up until the first peritonitis is observed. In clinical analysis, physicians often used the data from the patients who have developed peritonitis. However, it will make truncated data and lead to inference biases. Here, we adopt the aspect of competing risk to deal with the data because repeated and nonrepeated peritonitis compete each other.
