We prove some properties of the proposed AND/OR query operators, and use some examples to compare the proposed query operators with the existing query operators based on averaging operators. The proposed query operators is easily determine an appropriate value for the parameter α for handling “AND” and “OR” operations for fuzzy document retrieval. Furthermore, we propose a new fuzzy-number query operators based on the extended quadratic-mean operators to deal with the linguistic fuzzy AND/OR query problems. We also prove some properties of the proposed AND/OR query operators, and use some examples to compare the proposed query operators with the existing fuzzy-number query operators based on averaging operators. The proposed generalized fuzzy-number AND/OR query operators are more useful than the existing methods for fuzzy document retrieval. Finally, some papers pointed out that depicting the associating degrees between two concepts and the document retrieval relationships are major works for constructing a multi-relationship fuzzy concept network for document retrieval. Thus, we found some drawbacks of the existing methods of calculating associating degrees between concepts, and propose a new method for overcoming these drawbacks. We also use some examples to compare the proposed method with the existing methods. The proposed method is more useful than the existing methods to calculate the associating degrees between two concepts for constructing the document retrieval relationship in a multi-relationship fuzzy concept networks.
